My first involvement with the
greening of rooftops
What you are
looking at in the left hand portion of this picture is a roof top park
that was constructed in about 1973 over a parking garage. As a student
horticulturist with the Durban Parks Department I had the good fortune
to have been involved in the planting up of this roof top park which
was magnificent until budget restraints slowinly removed all of the
decorative plantings .
